The Superman Diet
What if my husband was really Superman - he'd rip off his shirt and have that tight outfit on and he could pounce on anyone that was being mean. I'm having a hard time getting a visual on this, so it's probably better that I just let him THINK he is...but seriously, everyone can feel like Superman by eating "power foods". These are foods with the highest amount of nutrients for the least amount of calories (what we call nutrient-dense foods); these have the most health benefits, satisfy your hunger, and are long-lasting. Every food group has power foods - proteins (fish especially, followed by meats, soy protein meat substitutes, eggs and peanut butter); fruits (berries in particular, but they are all excellent); vegetables (the darker, the better); last, but not least, whole grains and legumes (beans). These foods fill you up quickly and get right to work. Even ants can lift 50 times their weight, and they just eat your leftovers; just think how strong you can be! Melissa
